At Roydiss, a powerful new solar energy system is helping the home take big strides towards sustainable, independent living. The installation features a 15.2kWp solar panel array paired with a Tesla Powerwall 3, providing 13.5kWh of hybrid battery storage to capture and store clean solar energy for use day and night. With surge protection fitted on both AC and DC circuits and a whole-house backup gateway in place, the system is designed not just for efficiency but also for resilience, ensuring reliable power even in the event of a grid outage.

To complement the solar system, a Vaillant 7kW Arotherm air source heat pump has been installed, delivering low-carbon heating that’s powered by the home’s own renewable energy. Future plans include expanding the storage capacity with a second Powerwall 3, which would double the battery capacity to 27kWh and further enhance Roydiss’ ability to store surplus solar power for the colder months. With this setup, Roydiss is well on the way to becoming a future-proof, energy-smart home.
